Local
The monumental structure of the Pedra do Castanho III archaeological site, located in the Serra de Botopitá, consists of a large rock measuring approximately 9 meters in height, resting on a granitic block that rises more than 6 meters. Its classification as an archaeological site is defined by the presence of a rock art panel with three red-colored motifs on its southern portion. Among these representations, the image of a serpent can be observed. In addition to this depiction, pigment stains of the same type used in creating the three motifs can be identified, giving the impression that, in the past, a more complex rock art panel may have existed at the site.
