Itacoatiara dos Macacos
The Itacoatiara dos Macacos Archaeological Site, located along the banks of the Macacos Stream, 12 km from the center of Queimadas, preserves extremely rare rock carvings of the Itacoatiara type, etched into a granite slab approximately 6 meters long.
Most of the carvings on the rock are capsule-shaped, in low relief, and distributed in a non-linear fashion across the stone panel.
Among the capsules, a well-defined spiral and the depiction of a serpent measuring 55 cm in length can be observed.
